The Latest Liposuction Technology

Liposuction has been around for decades as a way of removing unwanted areas of fat from the body. As years have gone on, liposuction procedures have continued to develop, and today’s treatments are so advanced that you can even have liposuction without surgery.

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that targets and alleviates fatty deposits that cannot be shifted through diet or exercise. Men and women alike turn to liposuction in order to restore their body contours and give them a more desirable looking shape. Recent developments in liposuction have produced two particular methods of the treatment that require no surgical procedure, making liposuction more accessible to all and the recuperation time significantly less.

Smart lipo is a laser treatment performed under local anaesthetic. An optic fibre cable is inserted into the area of fat via a small 1mm cannula. This optic fibre then melts the fat cells and suctions them out, causing no damage to the surrounding cells. The skin soon tightens around the treated area, avoiding any saggy or loose skin as can occur with traditional liposuction.

Vaser lipo is another new liposuction technology, and is very similar to the smart lipo procedure. Again a cannula is inserted into the skin, however with vaser the fatty area is treated with a saline solution before being stimulated by vaser electronic probes that break apart and liquefy the fat cells. The fluid is then suctioned out gently. Whilst smart lipo has the advantage of post treatment skin tightening, vaser lipo liposuction is better for treating large areas of fat.

Both of these revolutionary technologies are superior to traditional liposuction in a number of ways. The procedures cause minimal pain and far less bruising or scarring. As such the recovery time is much faster, and the cost of the procedures is cheaper since they are performed under local anaesthetic and require no overnight stay.
