Non-Invasive Fat Reduction Options


These days cosmetic surgery has moved on from the old fat removal ideas of the 80s and 90s and towards a new set of techniques, especially for reducing or removing body fat. Many of these new methods are less invasive than liposuction or tummy tuck surgery, and some of them are completely non-invasive. That means the skin isn’t broken at all- no surgery and no scalpels. That means less scarring and certainly less pain, as well as less healing the body needs to do after treatment.

One new and non-invasive technique is called Accent Radiofrequency treatment. This method is specifically designed to reduce cellulite – the lumpy and puckered body fat that can be so hard to get rid of with diets and exercise. In fact, cellulite is quite common in women on the thinner end of the weight spectrum too. The Accent Radiofrequency fat removal technique uses radio frequency vibrations to shrink fat cells and make it easier for the body to drain away trapped pockets of cellulite.

Laser and Smart Liposuction are slightly invasive in that a small probe or needle does pierce the skin, but nowadays very little incidental damage is done by either method. They are much safer than a full surgical option and much less painful too. At botonics we use local anaesthetics during the procedures.  The scarring that results from Vaser and Smart Liposuction is minimal.
