Liposuction is the Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedure
New research has revealed that liposuction is now the most popular form of cosmetic surgery being chosen by people all over the world.
The study, which was carried out by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) found that the procedure now even surpasses the popularity of procedures such as breast enlargement, which have always featured at the top of the popularity polls.
Prestigious London cosmetic surgery clinic botonics, who provide both liposuction and breast enlargement procedures, have also begun to note that liposuction procedures are considerably rising above breast augmentation.
Looking at procedures carried out in 25 different countries around the world, ISAPS found that 18.8 per cent of all procedures were related to liposuction treatments.
And it is not only everyday people who are choosing to have the procedure as celebrities are also choosing to have it. In recent months UK stars such as Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted getting liposuction done on her legs and bottom. She also revealed this two hour procedure helped her drop a whole dress size taking her down from a size eight to a size six.
Coming in as the second most popular procedure with 17 per cent of worldwide treatments, breast enlargement still remains a much sought after form of cosmetic surgery. The study also revealed this was followed by nose reshaping, tummy tucks and eyelid lifts.
It is hardly suprising that the United States is the country with the highest number of people choosing plastic surgery. What is suprising however is that the figures reveal that China is ranked in second place.
Nevertheless, despite the popularity of surgical procedures, treatments such as Botox and laser hair removal are still the most popular cosmetic procedures. Such less invasive procedures can also be carried out by botonics’ surgeons, and the study suggests that the popularity of such treatments may be because these are generally less expensive than the surgical routes and do not require any recovery time.
These non surgical treatments are available in many beauty centres but do not offer the permanent results that surgery gives.
