Dermaroller treatment stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. Clinical depth derma roller treatments are available in the UK from botonics at our prestigous Harley Street clinic, in the heart of London's premier private medical community.
Dermaroller collagen induction therapy can significantly improve the appearance of:
Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
Skin radiance
Acne and other scars
Aged and sun damaged skin
Stretch marks
Pigmented skin
Large pores
Cellulite
Saying goodbye to such skin complaints is easier than ever thanks to this exciting nonsurgical skin regeneration therapy available at botonics. Genuine Dermaroller Therapy uses tiny micro-medical needles on the skin encouraging regeneration and repair, leaving you with smoother, brighter, healthier, younger looking skin.
Dermaroller Therapy offers amazing results without the inconvenient ‘down time’ that comes with more aggressive Laser treatments and medium and deep Chemical Peels.
And because it stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself without adding foreign substances to the body or taking anything away, Dermaroller Therapy is a natural process which has an excellent safety profile when used by the trained medical aesthetic practitioners at botonics.
Due to its notable safety profile, Genuine Dermaroller Therapy is suitable for use on darker skins and for use during the summer months when other treatments are more risky due to the increased UV sensitivity they can induce.
The treatment is fantastic for the repair of a broad range of skin complaints including acne scars, for the regeneration of the face, neck, décolleté and the back of the hands and for the treatment of stretch marks on thighs and tummies.
Dermaroller therapy is commonly known as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy and is designed to trigger new collagen synthesis in the skin, leading to younger, brighter and healthier-looking skin.
As the Dermaroller is rolled over your skin, numerous, ultra-fine micro-needles designed to penetrate through the epidermis create microscopic punctures on the skin’s surface.
By opening the skin in this way you not only dramatically increase the penetration of any topical product, increasing its efficacy, but you also create miniature perforations that stimulate the skin’s healing mechanisms, increasing production of many important factors for healthy skin.
The concept of skin needling or collagen induction therapy is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage, such as cuts, burns and other abrasions.
Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin, our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones.
Skin needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self repair mechanism by creating micro-“injuries” in the skin which trigger new collagen synthesis, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring.
Skin needling provides results similar to laser resurfacing, Fraxel® and chemical skin peels but at a lower cost and with little or no downtime.
The Dermaroller creates thousands of tiny puncture wounds to the skin which induces the release of growth factors that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. Creating dermal damage without removal of the healthy epidermis, as with other resurfacing techniques, means the healing time is rapid and does not cause any comparable discomfort.
If you suffer from various skin conditions such as wrinkles, scars, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, cellulite or stretch marks, you may benefit from Dermaroller therapy.
Thirty minutes prior to the start of your treatment, your botonics Dermaroller practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb your skin.
Your botonics practitioner will use a Genuine Dermaroller medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly - often in the same day.
It will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 - 30 minutes for the Genuine Dermaroller Therapy treatment.
Genuine Dermaroller Therapy uses the Dermaroller, a high quality sterile single use medical device, the only such device approved within the EU and only available in the UK and Ireland from trained medical practitioners and authorised clinics such as botonics.
The device penetrates the skin with thousands of microscopic needle-columns, which encourages the skin’s natural repair process. As the skin regenerates, new collagen and skin cells are formed and blood supply is enhanced.
Your botonics practitioner will normally recommend that your Genuine Dermaroller Therapy consists of a series of 2 - 3 Dermaroller treatment with approximately 6 weeks between them.
In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Genuine Dermaroller Therapy.
With recovery often taking place the same day as the treatment is carried out, you will just look like you've had moderate sunburn following your Dermaroller Therapy session.
Immediately after, your botonics practitioner may well apply Chiroxy Cream to help soothe and calm your skin. You'll be advised to treat the skin gently until the redness has cleared.
After a Dermaroller Therapy treatment your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis.
This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
In the first weeks the skin will normally look brighter and more vibrant and about six weeks later the regeneration and repair process can tighten the skin and reduce pigmentation.
The process will continue over the following months, providing natural and long lasting enhancement.
Up to three sessions, six weeks apart, are usually recommended.

Derma Roller Therapies
Many men and women across the world find themselves feeling self-conscious throughout their lives about the wrinkles on their face, cellulite on their thighs, or the overall dullness of their skin, and either turn to the use of serums and creams or invasive cosmetic surgery procedures to make themselves feel more confident.
Dermaroller for Stretch Marks, Acne Scars and More
Now at botonics, you can receive Dermaroller treatments performed by our expert surgeons to relieve the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, acne scars, sun-damaged skin, stretch marks, cellulite, and even large pores.
Dermaroller for acne scars, stretch marks and the other aforementioned purposes are available, and as one of the most effective new therapies for diminishing the severity of common body ailments, is growing in demand and popularity as the years go by.
The Science Behind Derma Roller
Derma roller therapies work by stimulating the skin through the process of skin needling, which will cause the body to reuse the slightly 'damaged' collagen and elastin fibres in the skin to produce new ones. This light stimulation of the skin's biological self-repair mechanisms means that when Dermaroller treatments are performed, the tiny puncture wounds to the affected area promote the reproduction of the collagen which makes the skin appear more youthful, brighter and blemish-free.
Results from Dermaroller for stretch marks and other ailments can produce quick results that will last, and because Dermaroller treatments don't add any foreign chemicals to the body, it is an incredibly safe procedure.
How do Derma Roller Treatments Work?
Here at botonics, we employ only the most experienced and professional aesthetic practitioners to perform Dermaroller acne scars, stretch marks and other such removal treatments.
They will use a topic anaesthetic to numb the areas of the skin which will receive Dermaroller for stretch marks, cellulite or any other purpose.
Then the procedure will begin, and the innovative technology behind Dermaroller treatments means that thousands of micro-needles will be used on the skin at any given time for maximum results.
Overall, the entire Derma roller treatment usually takes no more than an hour, but this depends on the severity of the affected area and the size of the area our clients wish for us to perform the procedure on.
Downtime is extremely minimal after Dermaroller treatments, but for the best results, botonics' practitioners recommend that you receive Derma roller therapies two or three times over the course of a few months.
If you have Dermaroller for acne scars, however, the amount of Dermaroller treatments you have will be increased so that you can get the best possible results and blemish-free skin.
